I have nice memories of Ron and Cathy. They were always the life of the party. Cathy went through her battle with cancer with a great spirit. She just knew she was going to beat it and, of course, she did. Ron would joke about it years afterwards saying - I told you all that green stuff you eat is not good for you - sometimes you just have to give it up and go to MacDonalds. They both had a joy for living, loved and were proud of their family.
My husband (Rene or Lucky as many called him) had a scrap metal yard on McCowan Road and Ron would come in to sell scrap metal to him. I loved to see him coming as he always had some up beat tale to tell. We had lots of visits and cups of tea.
Usually he was on his way to chauffer some kids around - he got a kick out of them and worried about the ones who were really troubled.
Ron and Cathy are now reunited - I can just hear them laughing. Their thoughts to you, their family, would be

Poppa you was the greatest man in the world to me the knowledge you shared with me growing up has taught me to be the man I am today you taught me how to fix cars an how important it is to work hard you taught me how to drive an how to be a man poppa I know your with grandma now I miss you both so much I love u both xoxo
I would like to send my sincere condolences to Andrew and Heidi Patchett and all of his family. Your dad was a wonderful man. You should be proud , you couldn’t ask for more kind, giving , caring, person , and what a great role model he was. So with all my heart, my thoughts and prayers are with you all love always Kelley Woods.
I had a great many memories with Ron and Catherine and the family over the years I've know them. I will surely miss the times we had together. Their 65th wedding anniversary dinner, to which the picture is of the 3 of us was one of my favorite memories.❤️
While I didn t know you Ronald you must have been a terrific guy because I knew Catherine and she was a sweetheart. May the Dear Lord reward you for your great contribution to your family and take you to heaven to rest in peace
DAD... I can't express enough how much I'm going to miss you, my buddy, my father. Thank you for instilling trust in me to be mom and yours caregiver for 7+yrs...your a terrific dad to this family and we thank you for everything
