It was with much sadness that we heard from Philip Johanson that Ken had passed away. We have many happy memories of working with him on Blackpool Beach Missions, and getting to know you as a family during those times. The photo helps remind us of those early days.
You are all very much in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. We can identify with you, as we lost our eldest son, Andrew eight weeks ago after a long illness, aged 43. Like you, we miss his presence in the home, but we know, that like Ken, he is now at home with his Lord, having committed his life to Him some time earlier.
Ken was one of the best Evangelists I have known. His energy and enthusiasm knew no bounds. It was a joy to work with him and be encouraged by his zeal for evangelism, and then to succeed him in the Liverpool Diocese. Many are in the Kingdom of God today because of his ministry. My last memory of you all as a family was when I was visiting a church in Scarborough near Toronto in 1978. What a joy it was then to be able to spend most of a day with you.
May God surround you all with His loving presence and give you the strength and the comfort that you need at this time. One day there will be a great reunion in the heavenly places, because as the song says:
"When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory."
May God richly bless you.

Dear Ina and family. I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. He was such a wonderful, caring, kind and compassionate man. I always enjoyed hearing him preach at Christ Church when our ministers were away. It was always a treat to see Ken and you grace us with your presence. I will miss seeing him and talking with him at the local store and pharmacy. You will have many wonderful memories to cherish. He will be missed by many.

Ken was a major influence on my life and ministry as a UK Church Army Officer. There are many tales could be told of the adventures we had, with me as a trainee and Ken as a Field Work training Officer. I remember his bold and cheeky manner in approaching people, creating a friendship in which he could share the Gospel. I remember boarding cargo ships in the Liverpool docks, making our way down to the galley where the sailors would be. Ken would try and find out what nationality they were, what language they spoke, and he would look through his bag and produce a small record with a Gospel message in their language. He would then produce a battery-powered record player and play the message, seeing if the "fish were biting".
My wife Carol (as a Church Army student) was on a beach mission with Ken in Blackpool in 1970. She took this photo when Ray Lewis (visiting from the USA) was speaking.
I look forward to a reunion in heaven!

Thank you Alan for sharing what Dad meant to you, a memory of him and for the picture Carol took. Dad loved the beach missions at Blackpool. Great days! Ray Lewis... what a dear man, he too had such a passion for sharing Jesus!
The Liverpool docks was another place Dad loved doing ministry. Always prepared with the Gospel message in other languages. Even now in his office there are Gospel tracts in various languages.
A reunion in Heaven..what a day that will be!

Ken was a true gentleman, so kind with his words and gestures. My father really enjoyed chats with him when my Dad was at Cedarvale and he was a comfort to him as well as us when my Dad was failing and approaching his time. He will be truly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have met him. Condolences to Ina and Ken's family.

Thank you Margaret for sharing your very kind thoughts on our Dad. He certainly loved the people and his times at Cedarvale Lodge. I know with the male residents at the Lodge he loved to chat about the 'old days', the war days and of course about the Lord!

Ken was always accommodating and extremely gracious. Whenever we called upon him, he was always there for us. His ministry was welcomed and comforting to the families he served. I will miss his conversations and his interest in my family.
Sincerely, Greg Forrest

Thank you Greg for sharing about our Dad. Dad's love for people was indeed so very genuine and especially during a family's time of grief. We know Dad had a far reaching ministry but other than sharing with our Mum, he was not one to blow his own horn about the ministry he did.

Ken Weaver and I were ordained Anglican deacons at the same service long ago. When I came to minister in the parish of Roches Point three years ago, I discovered to my delight that Ken lived just around the corner and was willing to help out when we needed him. He continued to be with us when we asked him, to preach and to lead services. We will miss him dearly. David Neelands, Parish of Roches Point.

Thanks Heather & Michael for sharing.
What a wonderful assurance we have knowing as we trust in Jesus as our Saviour when we close our eyes here on earth we then open them in the presence of Jesus!
That would be a great reunion with our 2 Dads....actually 3 Dads... since your Dad is there also Michael!

I first met Ken at the 8:00am service at Christ Church as a parishioner and then as a guest preacher. He was always a great preacher and friend to me. He was a man that wasn't afraid to pass away. He told me that when he was having some physical problems.
My sympathies to Ina and the Weaver family. He will be missed.
