My sincere condolences to Marion’s family. I just heard about her graduation to glory. I met Marion when she was ministering in Cordova mines. I received a call from her and had been asked to be the special music at the church. The poor lady didn’t even know if I could sing! That first meeting led to many more Sundays services to worship together. She always asked if she could pray for you, she seemed to know when you were going through a rough time. And even when you hadn’t heard from her for a while out of the blue you would get a phone call, and she would always bring your heartache before the Lord.
Rest In Peace Marion, your work is done.

Marion was more than just a client to me. She was a wonderful, warm person that I even referred others that I knew would benefit from her wisdom and compassion. She baked great little treats for me whenever I visited her and just wouldn't me leave without a "care package" of my favourites.
My most sincere condolences to the family and her many friends...

Marion was my first cousin, once removed. I didn't see her often but loved every moment that I had with her. She was very inspiring and I loved to hear of her adventures. I just wish that we didn't live so far apart when she was back in Canada. I know she will be busy in Heaven and will continually want to talk about her Lord, Jesus! I am going to miss her until I get there myself.

I never met Marion in person, but years ago as a member of the Free Methodist Church Board of Administration, Marion was on my list of pastors to call to "check-in" with periodically. I immediately liked Marion and looked forward to our calls. She clearly loved the Lord and longed for others to find that same love in their lives. Although one intention of these calls was for me to encourage and pray for her on behalf of the larger FMC, Marion always insisted on praying for me as well. I hoped that Marion went away encouraged from those calls. Thanks to her caring heart, I always did. My deepest sympathies to her family at the loss of wonderful saint.

My sincere condolences to you, Paul and Linda and family. I met Marion about a month after she moved to the apartment and we learned we each were diagnosed with Myeloma. I told her we had a special bond, and always would, since we talked about our day to day living with dealing with it. I shall think of her every Wednesday/Thursday when I will think of calling her but can’t. I too know she thought a lot of ‘her’ girls. She was a special lady. Rest In Peace, Marion.

In 1960 I began pastoring the Belhaven Free Methodist Church and the Travis family was a part of that congregation. Marion was a faithful member and a wonderful servant of God in the church. Later, after her years of ministry in India she spoke at the Church I pastored.
She was a faithful pastor in the Free Methodist Church. Her ministry was blessed. She led the work with vision, love, and spiritual discernment. She was a faithful part of the Canadian FM family. Her spirit was that of Christlike servanthood.
I am thankful for the privilege of knowing her as a colleague, pastor and friend.

Paul Linda and girls- my condolences to you -the family she loved dearly and often talked about. I came to the Lord through her ministry in early 1974.She was an example of Christ in difficult times-tears,prayer, forgiveness and singing when she was deeply hurt. She was rather disorganized and always in a hurry, which led to many adventures and misadventures. She helped others- maybe too much at times. Her sense of humour helped her enjoy(endure?) the teasing from her dad and brother, which kept her on her toes. She was "not perfect in performance but perfect in love" (quote from the late FM superintendent Rev Earl Bull) The roll was called up yonder and she is there. I am thankful to have been blessed by her friendship and fun these last 47+ years.

We are so sorry to hear of Marion's passing, but we know she is celebrating in Heaven and is face to face with our loving Saviour. We have known Marion for many years, starting in Watertown and then during her Cordova Mines ministering. She was special and a good friend to us.

I cannot begin to express the loss I feel right now. I’ve never met such an empowering woman. She had the ability to reach goals that the rest of us could never imagine possible. She walked into our lives much like an Angel appeared. She saw this beautiful huge church that was about to close forever and decided she would turn things around and so she did. She came to the small little hamlet of Cordova Mines and she had a vision. Sometimes we all believed her expectations were unrealistic but because of Pastor Marion we achieved so much. We installed a propane furnace and replaced the windows in the downstairs chapel. We opened up the rooms and made a fellowship hall. We lowered the raised ceiling in the upstairs chapel. We painted both chapels. We installed window blinds upstairs and down. We installed new carpets up and down and the list goes on. More importantly, especially to me was the reinstatement of our annual Christmas concert that meant so much to me as a child. Pastor Marion also started an annual Good Friday Service that was attended overwhelmingly. She prayed with me many times for fears that I had and I always felt so comforted after we prayed. She made a huge impact in Cordova Mines during her 10 plus years here. She would do anything or go anywhere to do her visitations. She delivered a humongous fruit basket to my dad at Kingston General Hospital and we still don’t know how she managed to get it there from the parking lot. She made it her mission to visit the ill and reach out to all of the families in and around our area. She started a Christian Rock night for our teens and then a weekly Kids’ Club and a summer Vacation Bible School. All of these reached out to many families. All of these families are saddened now because of our loss but very happy and thankful and grateful that she walked into our lives. She has a Very special place in all of our hearts!

I first met Marion at a network meeting of the FM church when I was assisting at Frankford FM church. I was tracking for ministry and learned many things from Marion. Over the years, we had some really good times of heartfelt conversations, prayer, tears and laughter. She was an amazing prayer warrior. I found her to be true to her convictions and took a stand for the principles and morals she believed in. She loved her saviour Jesus Christ and dedicated herself to being His hands and feet in ministry. She shall greatly be missed here on earth, however, will be quite the addition to heaven. We look forward to meeting her again one day when we get to heaven. Our hearts and prayers are with her friends and family who are grieving the loss. Be encouraged that those who place their trust in Jesus can be reunited with loved ones who do the same. May the Lord comfort you with this truth and during this time.
Most sincerely, Judy and Dennis Crowe

We extend our deepest condolence to family and friends. This dear servant of the Lord blessed the lives of many people. She is with the Lord.
We were missionaries in central Africa during the same period she was in India. We will send a memorial gift to Canadian Bible Society in her memory.

i will always remember Marion from the Free Methodist Church near Baldwin. She taught us God\s Love. The one thing that stands out is the song "This little light of mine'" She did an experiment using a candle and a blank paper. i was amazed. Marian and her family has helped me thru many hard times.IN GOD WE TRUST, She will be welcomed by God and many friends and family .but she will not be forgotten in so many hearts throughout the world.

Marion has been on my mind this past week. My memories from my childhood at Holt involve many special services. Marion graced us at Holt Free Methodist church Missionary meetings with her slides of her missionary work in India. Mom would insist that I attend. My homework would have to wait. Marion shared the successes, as well as the trials and tribulations of leading others to Christ in this land foreign to us. As I was so very young, my mind was filled with both commitment and terror, as I personally made a vow to someday be a missionary in India myself. That was how powerful her messages were. Well, that did not happen for me, as my life was shaped otherwise. I revised my plan of servitude, and made peace with God regarding such a long time ago. The closest I have gotten to India itself was to marry a man who was conceived in India, shortly before his parents headed home on furlough after serving there for five years. However, I will always remember Marion and the journey she shared with us. My condolences to Paul and his wife. I remember how much he missed his sister, and how we all rejoiced when she came home. May they forever hold her in their hearts.
