Mackness family, As an old friend of Fraser's I offer my deepest sympathies during this difficult time. I worked for Lorrie for just a day (Fraser helped me while I was in between jobs) years ago. I remember how hard of a worker he was and how hard I had to work that day :) he was so in tune with nature and if I remember correctly he explained his daughters names choices because they were names of flowers he loved. Although he is gone from this physical world I do hope you're often reminded of him and wonderful memories you shared. May God comfort you during this time. Allison

Forever my Dungeon Master. Lorrie was the one to introduce me to D&D, as well as countless other games, drinks, boating adventures & campsites. Whenever I am having a Rusty Nail, my mind goes back to the times we spent together, real as well as virtual. Our lives took different paths, but thanks to the Internet we continued our eternal fight against monsters and evils that people that only lived in the real world cannot even fathom. I celebrate your life, together with all our friends. My spirit will be there, since Sylvia and I are departing on Canada Day, back home. You had a wonderful life, Lorrie! You will live in our memories forever!

Gudrun: We learned with sadness of the passing of your Dad. Our hearts go out to you and your family. I did a little research on the internet to learn more about your Dad. I would love to have met him. As I'm sure you are aware, we don't expect to see much of Erica this summer. We want you to know that, with or without Erica, you are welcome to visit us at Gravelonia at any time. We consider you part of our family. Wish we were closer at this very difficult time. Fred

I remember meeting Lorrie in the 1980's when I worked with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority. Subsequently, it was a pleasure to work with Lorrie more recently when I was the MNR Stewardship Coordinator for York Environmental Stewardship. I remember Lorrie as a passionate caretaker of our natural resources and environment. My sympathies to all Lorrie's family and friends.

On behalf of the York Environmental Stewardship Council (YES) I wish to convey our heartfelt condolences in this difficult time. Lorrie's stewardship star shines brightly on as inspiration to other budding stewards. His passion for the environment is personified in the many stewardship roles he took on in and around the Lake Simcoe area - serving many years as our dedicated Chair for YES. He will be missed.
