Lee passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12th, 2014 with her children by her side, at Cedarvale Lodge a week shy of her 87th birthday. Lee is survived by her only son, Jim, and his wife Lynne, her brother Cameron Church (Helen), brother-in-law Bob Townsend (Pat) and her grandchildren, Jaimie and Robert, along with cousins and many nieces and nephews. Lee reunites with her spouse of 61 years, William “Bill” Townsend, her beloved daughter, Laura, as well as her parents, Bruce and Ethel Church, sister Doris Courtney (Sam), brother James Church (Helen), sister-in-law Georgina “Babe” McBrien (Ted) and sister-in-law Ann Church. She will also be welcomed by life-long friends, June Saramaki and Kay Jackson. Lee was a unique lady who will leave a legacy of warm and unforgettable memories. She cherished family above all else. She will be sadly missed by all. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at Keswick Gardens, River Glen Haven, and lastly Cedarvale Lodge. Lee received compassionate and dedicated care from all of these facilities in the past 10 years of her life, and their care and support have been a tremendous relief to the family.
