Lorrain Hand was a very special lady. She was a mainstay at Keswick High School. Many times Lorrain made all the difference by lending a "hand" during the events held at the high school, and who didn't buy Pizza slices from her weekly as she raised money for our Music Program and to benefit a graduating student going into music at the end of each year. God Bless her soul.
Love to all family members from Judy Buch.

Dear Erin and Family,
So sad to hear of your great loss. It was the greatest pleasure having Lorrain help me out immensely at WJ Watson over the 18 years I was there. She was always ready, willing and able to lighten my load. I'm so appreciative of this lovely, dedicated lady. Even when I was going through cancer, we exchanged cards and letters. I will never look at Brandy Beans at Christmas without thinking of her. Lorrain was a real life angel on earth. She will be dearly missed by many. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. Love "Mrs. Demczuk"

I had the pleasure of getting to know Lorrain at Watson P.S. I worked there for 20 years and Lorrain was there most days. She was a kind and generous women who gave of herself to the school and communittee. I send my heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time. May you find some comfort in knowing that your Mom, grandmother and great grandmother touched so many lives! She truly was a blessing.

Mrs. Hand was a very dedicated volunteer and lunch assistant. She cared about students and worked hard to raise funds for our kindergarten and library programs. She ran book fairs, did milk orders and pizza orders on top of her lunch assistant duties. She looked out for students in need and found ways to support them. She will be missed.

I had heard stories about Lorrain her sister Denise and Uncle Reg & aunt Mary from my dad Peter who was her cousin, about them when they were children and then emigrating to Canada. We finally got to meet them all in 1976 when we went on a family holiday to Canada when I was 10 years old. We visited again in 1978 & 1980 staying with Lorrain, Pat and their family in Markham, we were always welcomed. This was the last time I visited with my parents, Peter and Tina, But over the years they visited several times, staying with Lorrain, my mum and Lorrain would chat for hours putting the world to rights, normally with a cigarette. Sometimes I wonder when they visited if they would return home again they enjoyed it so much.
I visited in September 2022 with my husband, and I was there for my mum's birthday and the anniversary of my dad's death which seemed so poignant to be in a place they loved to be. We were welcomed into all of the 'Hand family' homes, and Lorrain showed both of us the same, kindness, hospitality that she had given to them. I also enjoyed sitting chatting to her listening to her stories and realising she loved my mum and dad as much as they loved her.
I am so pleased that I got to go last year to visit, staying with Lorrain, enjoy her company, and once we'd met up again the forty plus years in between just disappeared.
Lorrain you will be missed by so many, for your kindness, your good heart, and we are all better for knowing and loving you.

Lorrain was my elementary school chum from way back in grades seven and eight. We made friends instantly. I remember all the fun we had going to dances, ice skating, sleep-overs, swimming in the nearby pool, boyfriend woes, hanging out in the school yard and going on picnics with her parents and Denise. I will always remember you. Thanks for the memories dear friend, and rest in peace.
