Father (aka- Father In Law ) I look forward to the day We Meet Again
On Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 at 5:00 pm, Rev. Victorio Marzan joined our Father in his heavenly home. We are all blessed to have been part of his life, and to have the assurance that we will one day meet again.
Pastor Marzan was loved and treasured by those who were fortunate enough to have him touch their lives in many ways: husband, father, father in law, Grandpa, Pastor of the First Born Church, officiating minister, friend and confidant. He impressed us all with his all time willingness to give his helping hand and strength, his patience, his cooking, his ability to fix anything, and of course his unconditional love to his family.
He was a devoted husband to Mama Marilyn Marzan, whom he married for 47 years. Together they raised Johnjay Marzan and upon retirement they longed to be reunited with their daughter and siblings in Canada. That was his ultimate wish to be closer again and be whole again. They travelled from the Philippines to Canada only for those reasons - To Be With their Loveones.
He impressed upon each of them the values of family first and the strong morals by which they lived. His 4 grandchildren were very special to him and a source of pride and great joy. He never stopped caring for them and I am proud to declare that he and mama Marilyn practically raised them all with their love and personal care.
A valuable lesson that he modeled for his family was his contentment and positivity in whatever the situation. He made life work with what he had, successfully served, and cared for the family with patience and understanding. He always catches us with whatever we need in life. Weather his strength, his finances and especially his prayers. It was his ability to appreciate the simple pleasures in life and to find joy in most situations that put him in a class of his own. He never wants to cut off any of his loved ones, rather he fervently prays that all of his wishes will soon come true.
Many admired him because of his way of dressing up and the way he delicately spoke about his family. Pastor Marzan was never one to speak negatively about anybody. You never heard him gossip or belittle anyone. He could always be heard saying “I am most humbly grateful for my kids, for my health, for now my life I consider a bonus or for just about anything” and he really meant it.
Pastor Marzan showed his love in very practical ways. He lovingly taught his grandchildren to be strong, tenacious, use their intelligence, be determined and to work hard. He taught his son how to live with fear in God, and modeled how to be a good father, provider and put family first.
Always a source of good advice, Pastor Marzan had many famous quotes that I will always remember and treasure in my heart forever. Whenever we’d pick him up to go do something, or make arrangements with him he’d say, “Wen Anakko.” He always supported us.
When he was frustrated about something and releasing some steam, I am the only one who can calm him, I would love to personally make him a cup of coffee every morning and he loves it……And my personal favorite; when we would talk about his age he would say, My life is now a bonus anakko.
Papa Pastor Marzan always welcomed me and treated me like part of the family. He warmed my heart and made me feel extra special. In him I feel the father that I never had.
Papa will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his preaching, his love for his family, his compassion for others, his independent nature, his handyman skills, his constant prayers for everyone, his quick wit, and a memory that rivaled no one.
I am grateful for the time we spent together, and the laughter we shared, and look forward till the day we meet again. It was a beautiful memory.
God Bless this remarkable man and his soul. He will be missed but will be remembered as long as we live.
I love you My Papa Vic!
