Obituary of Ronald Kenneth Charlesworth

It with a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Ron Charlesworth at Riverglen Haven Nursing Home in Sutton on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the age of 74.  Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Kenneth and Marie Charlesworth (both deceased).  He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years Heather Charlesworth (nee Gerin), and his only son Matthew Charlesworth. His is also survived by his brothers: Douglas (Eleanor), David (Sybil), Gordon (Joanne), Robert (Deb), and all of their many children. He will be deeply missed by all.

His life’s work was in the book publishing and distribution industry, that moved him across the country living in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Newmarket and eventually settling in Sharon Ontario. Starting in Merits Encyclopedia’s then working with Thomas Nelsons and Sons, Grolier/Franklin Watts. He then starting his own company, Riverwood Publishers and Usborne Books at Home.

 A true man of the world he was able to travel widely in conjunction with his love of books and the publishing industry. He was known by a wide circle of friends, too many to name here, and his extended family, for tales of his travels and hobbies. They regaled in his love of learning new things, and adventures though scuba diving, sailing, woodworking, wine making, as well as, enjoying life in the sun when not working.
