My memories of Muriel are from some of her later years at the Georgina Community Food Pantry where I had the opportunity to learn the ropes from a Pro. Muriel was all business as she ensured those in need were served promptly and with dignity. Three of the volunteers on our shift shared the birthday month of March so we celebrated with cake annually. When Muriel decided (reluctantly I think) to retire at the age of 90 after 25 years of service those were such big shoes to fill. On behalf of our organization, condolences.
I did get to see Muriel for short visits at the Strawberry Festival at Christ Church as we enjoyed Mary's cake and my husband and I bought her products to support the ACW.. I admired Muriel's community involvement and send best wishes to her family. Respect....

Dear Muriel's family,
We are so sorry for your loss. We met Muriel (& Bud) while we were volunteering at the Red Barn Theatre and spent many wonderful hours/days with them and had great conversations - the stories were so full of humour and great advice. We always admired Muriel for her strengths in all aspects. When we visited them she would be digging in the garden and generously giving us vegetables and rhubarb. We are sure you have very wonderful memories as she has made such an impact on all the people she has met. We are very happy to have met such a beautiful, caring person. Wishing you fond memories.

Dear Mary and Tom,
I was so sad to hear that Muriel has passed away. Please accept our sincere condolences from all of our family to yours. Muriel has been a pillar of our community and church for so long and will be sadly missed by all. Whenever I attended church with mom, Muriel was always there with a beautiful welcoming smile and we always had a few moments to chat during the fellowship time at the church hall after the service. Muriel and Bud were great neighbours to our mom and dad and our whole family, and I remember so well the times I would walk up to your house and always be welcomed. Mom and Muriel had a wonderful relationship through our church and the Women's Auxiliary, which then carried on with you as well, Mary. I'm sure it will be a huge transition for all of you, and my heart is with you.
With love,
Susan Wilson

It was an honour to meet Aunt Muriel and Uncle Bud on my visits from England, when I visited them on their farm in a severe snowstorm, joined them for coffee in Cobourg, and sharing their table at Linda and Andrew's wedding. Both Muriel and Bud were lovely, welcoming people and contributed to making my visits to my Canadian relatives a really pleasurable experience. My sincere condolences to all the family, from Jeremy Heath in Oxfordshire.

A few days prior to hearing of Muriel's passing I was thinking of her on my drive in to work. Muriel's love for family I always found inspiring. You always felt important in Muriel's presence and I think her secret to this was that you were. During this difficult time we are thinking of you often, my family sends our love.

Dear Mary and Tommy, Please know how much our family has cherished the beautiful memories of your mom for many years.
My husband and I rented a cabin on the canal and visited your mom a few times. Aunt Muriel always welcomed us into her home and made the most delicious meals. Her homemade cream puffs were out of this world. She even gave me the recipe but they did not turn out like hers. She told me to go find a tiny pressure cooker to do my small baby beets. I did! That worked great! I still have it.
I remember Dad and Uncle Bud would serenade us kids together with their guitars and amazing songs.
Uncle Bud and Aunt Muriel were a huge part of our lives. It is with sadness that we have to say goodbye. Our wishes for you at this heartfelt time are for a gentle and loving recovery from your loss.

Will always remember when Aunt Muriel and Uncle Bud would come down to visit with our Gramma Ethel Glenn. Always lots of laughs and joking around. She will be missed but I am sure they are all together having tea and doing puzzles together, with Uncle Bud pocketing the most important piece so he could put the last piece in the puzzle.
Hugs to you all.

Muriel was such a delight to know, so caring and kind. I recall she supported Jericho fundraising efforts as far back as the 1980's and she always baked several apple pies, always without cinnamon, as she said her family didn't like cinnamon. Of course they always sold first. She and Bud were such community supporters. She lived a wonderful life to reach such a marvelous age. I know her family members will have great memories of her. My sympathy to her family. May God give her eternal rest.
