Garnett, it has been a year since we lost you and it feels like yesterday, we are lost without you. People say it will take time, but it feels like it is getting harder without you. So many things you are missing that you should be sharing with your girls and me.
Garnett you are the love of my life I have loved you for ever and will love and miss you for ever!

As the Memorial service is being prepared ...I am finally able to put my thoughts down.
I want to thank Helen and Earl Pendley for sharing this wonderful man with our family for too short a time.
For Shelly, Marissa and Alyiah my heart breaks as I watch you go through this loss. I know it will never get better but it will get easier as your happy memories take over your loss.
We are all learning a new way of being a family as we progress with one less.
Garnett I know that you are up there watching over your girls, hunting rifle in one hand and fishing rod in the other.

Dear Shelly, Marissa and Alyiah. Eric and I are so sorry and saddened to hear of the passing of Garnett. He was a wonderful guy - full of smiles, laughter and such an easy disposition. We enjoyed any time we spent together with you and the Vyriotes family. And hearing the laughter shared with Tom always warms our hearts. We remember the time when Garnett, and his mom Helen, enlightened us on scotch bonnet peppers when we spent a few days together at the cottage. Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time. Although I haven’t seen uncle Garnett, aunty Shelly, Marissa, or aliyah in a long time I think about my younger years and all the memories our families shared at that cottage on sturgeon lake or wherever else we were, hearing constant laughter from Uncle Garnett and my father until late into the night, all those friendly fishing tournaments between the your boat and my dads, and “cow harrasanating” as we all playfully called it. There’s so many memories of you I’ll always remember. Thank u for being my someone my dad considered a brother, and someone that could always make a good time better and a bad time good. Thank you for what u taught me about fishing and about life and the stories you would share. I am blessed to have been able to have those memories with You uncle Garnett and am blessed to be able to call you an Uncle. I will forever remember and cherish those times our families had together it was truly some of the funnest times I can think of. Regardless of how long it’s been ill always be thankful for and love Uncle Garnett, Aunty Shelly, Marissa, and Aliyah. Rest In Peace Uncle Garnett you got taken much to soon but your impact on me and many others remains regardless. I’ll see you again one day in Gods house. Thank you for being an amazing uncle. I hope u and my dad are having a blast being reunited love you always.

I am a man of few words but my pain is in no way less. My son Garnett who I have a lot more to say to has gone on before me. This is not the way it was suppose to be. He was a terrific person with lots to offer to any and everyone he met. He was a good son. I am in denial because I keep hoping that the phone will ring and he will be on the other end saying "Hi Dad. How are you? What you doing?. No words can describe the pain I am feeling for the unexpected passing of my son Garnett. His time here with us was much too short although he did not waste it because he lived loved and enjoyed life. He was happiest when outdoor fishing, camping and hunting with his family and friends. I was fortunate to have been with him on some of those trips and did create special memories which I will hold close to my heart. Garnett was a loving and caring son, a loyal friend and a dedicated husband and father to Shelly (wife) and( daughters) Marissa and Alyiah. I will miss the little things he did like a hug when close and those words," I love you mom" at the end of every conversation which I will never hear from him again. These memories will live forever in my heart.
Garnett my son you are gone but we will never forget you. I will continue loving you.. Goodbye my son. You are now in the hands of God. May your REST be PEACEFUL

Garnett was a terrific guy to work for/with so even after we stopped working together we remained friends. He was always willing to help anyone if asked and even though I hadn't seen him in months because of Covid I know If I needed help with something he would have been there if he could have. My deepest condolences to the Pendley family and friends. I met Garnett at work in 2010. I remember he gave advice to the furniture installers like a caring Father. He had tips and tricks for them, they would tease, but he would ignore them, and continue to add his instructions to the DTs. Garnett loved his post-it-notes. My old Honda Civic, Garnett told me to reverse it into the parking spot in case it required a boost. Always, forward thinking when it came to mechanical things!

I don’t even know how to say goodbye to this incredible guy. It doesn’t feel real. Garnett was my 2nd big brother, and there for most of my life, whether I wanted him around or not! The most infectious laugh, the person who knew everything, was always right (in his mind anyway) and never backed down from a debate. He welcomed everyone, and was always up for a good time.
Joe, Jaden, Brandon, Avery and I will miss you beyond words and can’t imagine not seeing or hearing you again.
We are so thankful we had you in our lives and so lucky that you were family. We will all miss you and feel such a void already.

I am struggling to find the most deserving words to honour your memory Garnett. It seems impossible to offer words of peace and condolences to Shelly, Marissa and Alyiah, partially because I am still in disbelief. I really don't know exactly how old I was when I was introduced to you, in my memories you were always there as my cousin Shelly's boyfriend, then later her husband, always Shelly and Garnett. Even though it has been a long while since we last visited, I can still hear your contagious laugh and your voice telling stories about the cabin, fishing, hunting, friends and of course, stories about your girls. When I was young, I knew that you had a busy life filled with what seemed like so many adventures and passions; I thought it was so interesting that I knew someone that had such a sense of adventure. You were the only person I knew growing up that really loved the outdoors, nature and outdoor sport and I enjoyed learning from you, like the time you taught me about antlers - I know it seems silly, something that apparently seems so small, well, I went on to share that wisdom with many people and think about you every time.

My deepest condolences to all the Pendley family. This man had a great life having had loving parents, wife and amazing kids. He had a lot of friends who loved him and which is a testament to what a special person that he was. I was hoping we would grow a little bit older together, looking forward to retirement so we could go back to hanging out, fishing and shooting the breeze and recalling our past adventures. Garnett, Words cannot describes how I am feeling on your leaving. My heart is broken. Having you for my big brother is a gift and I am truly blessed. I met Garnett through his parents, Helen and Earl, being their next door neighbour and friend. My first impression of him was his love for his parents, it was so apparent. I could see the love he had for his family, his daughters and wife. Soft spoken, very humble and easy to like.
I cannot imagine how difficult this time must be for Helen and Earl, my deepest sympathy goes out to you both. This is every parents nightmare and I wished I could take away your pain.

Garnett, I have no words. It took me a long time to even be able to write this. I feel so lost. You and Shelly were such a big part of my childhood and I have so many wonderful memories of you both, from baseball games to trips to wonderland. I thank you both for loving me. To Shelly, Marissa, Alyiah and the entire family. Sending my deepest condolences to you all on Garnett's passing.
I've known Garnett since I was a girl of 12 or so and although I only have one brother by blood, I've always thought of Garnett like another big brother. During my impressionable teenage years, he was someone I looked up to and who I spend many days & nights with laughing, listening to music and just hanging out. He taught me many things, like slow dancing, and made me appreciate great music. To this day when I hear certain Temptations/Motown songs, my first thought is "Ohhh a Garnett Song" and I smile. He was a fixture at our home back when we were young and although he first came into my life as a friend of my sister's, our entire family soon considered him an honorary member. I've only seen him a few times over the last several years but when I did, it always felt like no time had passed and just like the good old days.
It's still so hard to believe I will never see his big smile again but I will hold onto and cherish all the wonderful memories I have.
Once again, my deepest condolences to his family on the loss of this beautiful man. My heart goes out to you all. Love Kim & John

I have no words, Dad. You were supposed to be there for everything: Alyiah’s graduation and prom, for my graduation, birthdays, weddings. There was never a time where I pictured those events without you, and now I am so incredibly lost. Although I know you will always be watching over us, things will never be the same. Dear Shelly, Marissa, Alyiah, Mr. and Mrs. Pendley, and family. We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Garnett's sudden passing. I am absolutely heartbroken for you all. Garnett truly was one of kind, loving, generous, and genuine. A true and loyal friend, who would be there to help at the drop of a hat. One of those people you instantly like the first time you meet. So many amazing memories over the years, cottage trips, backyard bbqs, celebrating milestones. And, of course, the friendly debates, for which he is famous. I remember one in particular, I don't remember the topic, but I do remember I had finally stumped him. He knew it and I knew it, although he would never admit it :) But the look in his eye and the smile on his face said it all. That always makes me smile. One of the best times of my life is when I met these four awkward, quirky silly boys 45 years ago when I was 15 (Mehdi, Warren, Stelios and Garnett). I have so many wonderful memories of those early days when life was simply and fun and we were all just good friends. Garnett used to call my Mom and Dad, Ma and Pa and my parents absolutely adored him as did all of my family. For years, he brought much laughter to the Brady house. I like to call those times the good ole Cherokee days. Personally, I will always be thankful to Garnett for helping me through the worst time of my life when Warren passed. Garnet , my lifelong friend. We had fun and adventures since we were 15 years old. . I remember our hunting trip 1976 in my red Volkswagen . All the boys packed in the little car .
So much fun and so many memories
We wrestled in the basement of our old house. .. you left us too soon. . There is a big emptiness in our group now

Garnett you were the most loyal, trustworthy and sometimes frustrating person I have ever known.

Garnett ,I remember meeting you at Pleasant View Junior High in grade 7, all those years ago. You always had a heart of gold, willing to do anything for a friend.
