Cathy was like a tree in the forest, tall, strong and oozing out goodness to the whole world. May this tree help heal the world as Cathy helped heal many relationships.
She was the teacher who helped to prepare the shared classes of First Communion students at Our Lady Help of Christians and St. Joes in Richmond Hill. I taught the grade 2 class for many years at St. Joes and always loved it when Cathy and I could work together to make this day special for our students.
Bless you Cathy and my sincere condolences to your family.

Our deepest condolences to the family. Mrs. Evans was one of the most gentle souls we have ever known, she was the best teacher our children could ever have growing up kind and loving and so soft spoken. We were so lucky to have reconnected to her in Keswick out for walks every time we went out there she was always smiling and we would always talk about the good old days and never forgotten our children’s names. We have missed seeing her out and about but thought of her often. What a beautiful video memory with her always smiling.

Cathy Jean Evans was a lady with butterflies in her hands, flowers in her heart, sunshine in her smile, and adventure in her legs. Her energy was infectious. Everyone she knew, met, and saw was approached with kindness, compassion, generosity, joy, and love. From volunteering at the gathering place, to helping cancer patients, to knowing the names of the pharmacists, as she waved and talked to them every time she went by; grandma was one whom everyone knew and loved.
My favourite memories together were the sleepovers at her house with the girl cousins. We wrote in our cousin diary, laughed at everything under the sun, looked at photos albums, talked about boys, watched movies, you took us skating around the corner, and we ate and enjoyed your shell pasta. I loved when you took us skating the next day around the corner, or we went tobogganing. Every sleepover was a different adventure, and the happiest days of my life. I’ll never forget June 20, 2020, when I drove by to sit on your driveway and talk about dreams and inspirations, and you shared every interest. It was such a beautiful day that I am so glad that we shared.
The positive thoughts and energy you brought to your children and grandkids is so embedded in our being, that I feel it even with you being gone. Everything I am so proud of myself for being today, is all because of your influence on my dad and myself. We are so similar. Our craving for life, love, adventure and nature is a bond that will be alive forever. I love and appreciate you more than you will ever know. I picture you in heaven, legs crossed on a lawn chair or walking miles, while reuniting with loved ones; butterflies, sunshine and flowers surrounding you. Look out for us all, please. I will always pray to you.
Lots of love,
Your grand daughter,
Natalie Catherine Evans.

What a sad, sad day to hear that Cathy has died. She was such a light in our lives. She was wonderful to work with , whether helping in my class after she retired, or helping with Our Lady of the Lake Womens Group, talking in the front yard on her walks, at Church, at Tai chi, at the grocery store . She was always around......! She will be sorely missed. Our sympathy to her whole family. She loved you all soooooo much! She talked about you all the time. And she was so grateful for all the love she had from you all during these Covid days. Blessings to you all. Maureen and Peter Wilcox
