Obituary of Dennis Hubert Curry
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Dennis Curry announce his passing at the age of 89 years. After a long valiant fight with cancer. Dennis passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Dennis will be sadly missed by his wife Carol (née Weir), his step-children, Mark Dracup (Lise), Lisa Dracup (Paul Fenz), Tanya Cummings (Mike Byam), and Troy Pacia. He was loved by all 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as well as his in-laws, Larry and Edna Weir, Lois and Ray Judges, and Sandy and Ken Weir. He will be missed by his much loved friends, Pam and Reg Haight, Sheila Nelson and many more. Predeceased by his father James Curry, his mother Aileen Maxwell and his step-father Thomas Lough.
Den loved life and people. His outlook was always positive. He loved his cottage and over the years enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren there watching them play, swim, fish and enjoy nature. He loved travelling, playing cards and family time. He would do little errands every day and would always have a story about his adventures. He loved dogs and there was always an Airedale or two in the home.
Dennis worked as a packaging salesman for Nor Baker for 36 years. At the age of 65 he formed his own company, Crestwood Sales and Investments, working for the Pro Pals and then Tempo Plastics, providing packaging to Goudas Foods. He finally retired at the age of 83. He was an avid reader and always had a newspaper in his hand to keep up with the world.
He leaves us with many happy memories. As one grandson said “What will we do now, Grandpa was the boss of the family.”
Many thanks to Dr.Osoro, Dr. Shaqi Kassam, and Dr. Kakavand for their very caring professional service. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Southlake Cancer Clinic and to Theresa Petrie and Colleen Gauthier for all their dedicated compassion. Also, to the many healthcare professionals of Central LHIN whom we have met over the last 2 years. We could have never done it without you.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Southlake Cancer Clinic, Newmarket or to Dog Tales in King City.
Arrangements entrusted to the M.W. Becker Funeral Home, Keswick.
