I just learned about David's passing. What a fun loving character he was! Absolutely loved to play, debate (just about anything) and was always up for a challenge. David taught me how to snowmobile, however I was never going to learn to take the chances he did. I remember coming back from Orillia on our snowmobiles at night and feeling totally lost on the ice of Lake Simcoe, but David was able to somehow guide us right to his place in Pefferlaw. David will be sorely missed. To Sharon, we're so very sorry for your loss. You were the "A" Team as a couple, friends and business partners.

I was saddened to learn of David's passing, I always thought that when I visited Keswick I would run into him. My condolences to his family and his siblings. It seems that we have lost touch with the family after his parents Dorothy & Lawrence and my parents Albert & Jean (nee Taylor) Wood passed. Albert & Judy Wood/Goyea.

Most certainly I send condolences to David’s whole family. I had not realized how many folks were in his inner circle. I will miss David as we had many many passionate discussions over the years. What stands out the most was our trip to Greece. Whenever the word Greece has come up since then.....the first thought is of David, and always will be

We are very sad to hear about David passing. He was a kind, funny and
outgoing man.
We enjoyed spending time with Sharon and him when boating.
He will be missed.

Sharon and family, Bev and I pass our condolences, the loss of Dave has brought back so many memories of the distant past motorcycles, MG's parties at Rosies to recent events arriving in his Lebaron top down with a big smile. He always worried about everyone's health and of coarse giving advise. Since his passing I have found our lost cousin living with Phil Kehoe, a Donevan Buddy. he would have been so excited. Please stay in contact and let us know when that day will be to celebrate his life by the water. Love Terry (TC)

I send my sympathy to all of David’s family. I am sorry for the loss of one of my oldest friends. David and I shared many activities from grade 1 (1953) at Harmony Public School to grade 13 (1966) at Donevan Collegiate, Oshawa. We were in Sunday School together at Harmony United Church where our families knew each other well. From an early age, we took violin lessons from the same teacher (Klemi Hambourg) and played many duets and solo pieces in different settings and at competitions and in the Oshawa Public School Orchestra. I recall our mothers driving the old family car to competitions and concerts in Peterborough and beyond. David shone in bringing us together in all these times and places. He was especially motivating and happy to see so many from high school at our infrequent reunions in Oshawa, 2001 - 2018. All of us who gathered at those occasions will miss him.
Searching an old album, I found this photograph of David taken in April 1964, cutting a surprise birthday cake that a classmate had baked and brought to school. Do you sense his joy?
Please let us know when we might gather to celebrate our old friend. Many will reunite for David.
Love to all, Judy Kashul, formerly 980 King Street East, Oshawa; now Montreal

David and I started out at Harmony Public School in grade one in 1953. We shared eight years there and then went on to
Donevan. We were cubs together, and then scouts. He was my patrol leader and I was seconder. We went to Sunday School at Harmony United Church.
One of the best parts of Donevan was the music class. Dave had an advantage because he could actually play a violin as the rest of us struggled away. One day we worked away on a classical piece that we had never managed to finish without losing track of where we were. We finally found ourselves at the end, a long 8 beat note for everyone. As it finished Dave added a solo of "shave and a hair cut two bits" on his fiddle. The class collapsed in laughter and the teacher threw his baton at Dave.
I remember the canoe ride as I, like about half of the school was watching out a north side window.
The reunions were wonderful and at the last one he and Judy Kashul and I sat talked for at least an hour after everyone left.
A friend like will be hard to find

My sympathy & condolences to you, Sharon and all of the family. He was always upbeat whenever we met up & was genuinely concerned about the well being of others. The first evidence I saw of this trait was in high school. A small group of us had run the rapids of Harmony creek during spring thaw & were soaked. David led us all to his house on Riverside Dr where we were provided dry clothing while his Mom dried ours. He was a nice man & will be missed...

Dear Sharon and all the family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I know all of you will miss him terribly. David was a wonderful guy and became the heart and soul... and glue of our Oshawa elementary and high school cohort. All his fellow students from days of yore will miss him and his amazing enthusiasm and ability to motivate us to gather.
Just let us know when we can celebrate his life and we will be there. Stay well all of you. Love, Daphne
