Mom,
Remembering you is easy, I do it every day.........
I remember when I was a child you were always there when we came home from school, both at lunch and at the end of the day. You let us build "forts" out of cushions & blankets, watch TV and have tea parties with hot milk instead of tea. There was always the wonderful smell of your cooking or baking in the kitchen. I am so thankful to have had my mom around for every smile, tear, failure and success, big and small.
As I adult, I loved visiting with you at the cottage, in Florida and at the retirement home. Some of my favourite times with you were on our "girls overnight trips".....especially our week long train trip from Toronto to Vancouver. That was a wonderful adventure.......sleeping in bunk beds on the train, fabulous scenery and stunning views from the dome car and high tea at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Knitting, reading, crossword & number search puzzles, line-dancing, shuffle board, bingo, crafts and watching "Dancing with the Stars" were just some of your passions.
You were the nicest person I know. Your friends always comment on your kindness and your lovely smile. I never doubted that you loved me and that you would always make time for me. You made me self-sufficient and responsible. You taught me how to make your delicious shortbread cookies.
For all the support and love you gave me, I thank you and love you, mom.

I have always loved Aunt Peggy and, after my mom passed, she was even more of an important link and comfort to me. (Thank you, Aunt Peggy.) To my dear cousins, their family, and the many she touched, hubby Yves and I join you in mourning Aunt Peggy’s departure from this world. Love and gratitude forever.

Mom, you were a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed by us all. You had a gentle soul, but were a pillar of strength and resilience. The last few years you were struggling with your breathing and yet you were able to live independently up until 2 weeks before you left us. Thank you for all you did for us, growing up and as adults. My birthday is always around Thanksgiving, but you would always make a special meal to celebrate it and still have a fabulous turkey dinner on that weekend; your dressing is still the best I've had!
