My mom Marylou Clements thought the world of Archie and they would sit together often at church.
She often asked how he was when she was in hospital herself. They are together now and are forever in our thoughts.
Condolences to Archie's son and family,
Becky (Marylou's daughter)

I first met Archie in 1968 in Montreal when he was looking for someone who could play Banjo and Guitar. I joined The Black Velvet Band and we spent many years making music together in Montreal and Toronto and places in between.
He could be gruff on the outside but in truth, it was just a show because behind the gruffness was a really warm human being.
Rest in peace, my good friend.

Archie was my Baby brother we were both born in Roslyn st Belfast He was 3 years younger than I. During the war we were evacuated to the Jordans farm in Co. Tyrone They taught us things like caring for animals, raising chickens, ducks and when working the fields was done we got to ride back on the huge farm plough horse which we thought was an adventure. During the blitz our roof was damaged and the bedroom ceilings caved in, When some repairs were made we came back from the Jordans and my Dad took Archie and Mum to the Empire Theatre where an artist played the Accordian, Archie liked the music and said so and so began his career playing music; our MUM told us all to save our pennies so Archie would get an Accordian, eventually he had a small accordian and he practiced scales etc. Soon he began to play good music, Irish, Jazz, Blues and then some Concertos, He appeared on the concert stage , The BBC , night clubs in Belfast and Bangor, he was in high demand and we were all so proud, Not only was he a good musician he was a good student and gained scholarships to several institutions, he was also a good Football player and he had a sarcastic wit which sometimes could be quite biting. Later in life he joined Agnes and I in canada and played at The Hunters Horn in Montreal , Man and His World and many dances and concerts he just got better and better, sadly the late nights took their tole and he started loosing his hearing it became harder to communicate, I had a heart attack and lot my Liscense so could not easily visit , when Colin died and then Barbara I think he lost heart, Gary took good care of him but it didnt get easier

Our deepest condolences to Cousin Gary. I have many many great memories of Uncle Archie in Ireland and in Canada. For instance, the amazing model aeroplane he built and then allowed me to fly along Roslyn Street in Belfast when I was just 5 years old. Then later in Canada the wonderful years when he played with the Black Velvet Band at The Hunter's Horn in Montreal and so many get-togethers. He was so talented he could make his accordion practically sing and he thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. And of course I shall miss his oh so very dry wit.
Farewell Uncle Archie; we will miss you.
Jim and Cathy Quinn
