I’m am so very sorry for your loss. Richard was one of a kind! I worked the very early shift and he on midnights so I always had a chat with him almost every morning.He will be missed by all who knew him! Rest In Peace my friend .

It brings me great sadness to have read that the passing of my cousin Rich, you always will be remembered by MUSIC and your love of any kind . I always remember no matter what time of day the bellows of just music in the house ,garage just anywhere it reminded me of you. Your love of your children and seeing the beautiful memory of pictures and family you were a wounder man, and will be so sadly missed. Your children had lost the best father and grandfather, Cathy you as well have lost your best friend but most of all soul mate. Your welcoming heart of anyone into your home was always something that made everyone around you just see and remember your smile . Rich you will be sadly missed by so many people and now it is your time to fly and be free my friend but most of all my family. I was in Canada Post 22 years when I took a transfer to Newmarket station on the night shift I remember the first night I was there management told me to put my lunch in the lunch room and my belongings. So I put them on a chair and when break time came I went to sit down there, another co worker Joe and said to me" you cannot sit at this table I read at this table and I'm the only one that sits at the table" I looked confused as there were seven other seats at this table so I hear a gentleman turn around and say" You can come sit with us Heather if you would like" that was Richard Smith he was the first person to reach out to me at Newmarket stn him & Kevin . Year later transferred to letter carrier and 2 yrs ago I returned back to night shift & again got to have some great times with Richard. He was a very proud Grandpa, As soon as I got into work I would hear "Heather got to show you some photos" he lit up everytime he showed you photos & talked about his grand kids and children. You were a beautiful soul Richard. I will truly miss you. Richard you where taken away to early. May you rest in peace friend. God Bless Heather Wilson Gonsalves
