Teta Terka, Mirka, milí bratranci,
Dovoľte mi vyjadriť úprimnú sústrasť so skonom Vášho manžela, otca, a nášho brata a uja - Mira,v mene rodiny Jančíkovej, Makukovej, tety Máje ako aj všetkých členov širšej rodiny na Slovensku. Snažila som sa oznámiť to
navždy pamätáme zo skorších rokov a každý z nás má v pamäti aj nejakú vtipnú príhodu s ním.
Česť jeho pamiatke.
Danka

It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to a profound influence on my youth. Oco, you were such a scholarly, learned man and always good for a debate or just casual conversation. You even put up with the shenanigans Mira and I would get up to (and there were many). You were larger than life, and I know you are finally at peace with our Lord. I will always treasure our last conversation, which only reiterated the honourable and kind man, that was sometimes lost beneath your "full-tilt ahead fieriness" :-). Oco, budete navždy zmeškaní a nikdy nezabudnete.

Dr. Vladimir “Miro” Knaze
When people say “wow your wild” I always think “but not nearly as wild as my Dedo”. He blew 3 of his fingertip off as a child with a bullet during WWII, put his sisters then himself through school and got his Doctorate in Law and used this knowledge to write an underground newspaper against the communist in occupied Czechoslovakia, was found out and had to flee his country and hide in Austria for 18 months with his family (my Babka, aunt and father). He then was found and hopped on the first plane out, to Canada. From there worked for CN rail while refusing to learn English, owned a tobacco farm, started a carpentry shop, had his real estate license, owned an auto body shop, all while supporting his family and building a home in Keswick. If given a challenge he never gave up, even if it meant chasing bylaw officers off the property with an axe. He’s fallen off everything possible and never failed to injury himself, but always filled a room with his presence. He was one of those people that could entertain a room and if was told to be quiet would spend another 5 minutes telling you “ok I’ll be quiet now, don’t worry I’ll stop talking now...”. There are so many stories and he will never be forgotten.
I love you Dedo and will never forget you ❤️
