My father Chief Orland Keating of Stouffville had Chief Pollock to our home one time.

Alvin was our neighbour for many years, when we moved to the area he welcomed us with fresh vegetables from his beautiful garden. Through the winter months we feasted on fish that he caught on his many ice fishing treks.
He was a “great guy” and will be missed by many.

For the last 21 years Alvin has been the neighbor in the back yard with all the answers. Regular afternoon summer chats were spent at the fence listening to stories of 'police chief life', the local happenings or simply picking up a bag of vegetables that were left hanging on the post.
He and Helen were both dear people who blessed our family from the day we moved in. He will truly be missed.

I wish to offer up my deepest condolences to Family and friends of Alvin. It was a privilege to Know Alvin and be his full-time PSW since mid June 2018. A great storyteller and frequent talks down memory lane. I always enjoyed hearing his side of the story. His family was everything to him and he was their "ROCK". It was a pleasure meeting so many so often! Alvin was a humble, compassionate man full of gratitude and I will surely miss him.

We are very sorry to hear of your loss. Alvin was highly thought of by the entire Dyer family. Keith has many fond memories of him as a teenager and a grown man. Alvin was a very fair law enforcer and highly respected. Jean Dyer valued his friendship when she was an employee at the police station. I didn't know him well but respected him because my husband & mother-in-law spoke so highly of him. I am sorry we can't attend the funeral. We just heard Monday night. Weather is not great for driving. We have had an enormace amount of snow.

To George, Jane & Kim,
So sorry to hear about uncle Alvin. He devoted his life to public service as a police officer and we should all be grateful to him. I spoke with uncle Alvin about a year ago concerning our daughter Katherine aspiring to join the police service and I received excellent advice from him. I am pleased to say that Katherine is now a police officer with the York Regional Police. She is following in uncle Alvin's footsteps.
