I cannot express how much I loved him, he was more than just my papa he was my lifelong friend. He was the one I told all my secrets, he would listen to me for hours and give his opinion (regardless of whether I asked for it). He was a stubborn man, who liked things a certain way (his way) and rarely compromised. But to me he was kind, funny and had endless stories about growing up in Glen Scarlet. He was the best papa ever! I’d do almost anything to hear one of his stories again but I’m comforted that he is at peace and while I’m not certain I am comforted that by God’s Grace I will see him again. What I know for certain is that I will miss him for the rest of my life but I have the memories, like combing his hair, tell him not to give nana a hard time, trips to the casino every time I visited, our selfies. But I will keep close his last words to me; “Love you Papousi, I’ll see you when I see you” to which I responded “Love you too”.
