Our deepest condolences to John's family. I First met John when my oldest started school at Our lady of the lake 10 years ago. Always happy and friendly and we would chat a bit each day whether it be at his crossing or running into him at the stores. Even after our oldest left for University John would always ask how she was doing being away from home and when she was coming back to visit?
He was always chatting it up with my younger two children each day when crossing them to school at Prince of Peace. If John wasn't there for whatever reason my kids would always ask for him.
I have missed our chats since he took ill but will always remember them and what a sweet kind man he was. He will be dearly missed and remembered fondly.

My sincerest sympathies to you and your family Lynda. I first met him many years a go after we first moved here. He was delivering your children's Era Banner newspapers while I was delivering The Advocate. He was always friendly and smiling. I had the honour of being a small part of his healthcare team at Woodbine Medical Centre. It was always a pleasure to share a few moments with him He was so proud of you and your family and was happy to share some lovely family moments with me which made my day! He will be missed by many.

To the Walsh Family
I have known your dad as "John the crossing guard", for many years he crossed my granddaughters, my neighbours and a lot of the children from Jersey Public School and Prince of Peace. He always had a smile on his face and knew every child's name. He will be sadly missed. I bet he is blowing his crossing guard whistle up in Heaven.

I remember John as great father and friend .... when I was younger I remember him taking me to see Dave hockey games and to the cottage back then ...Going for sleepovers and he always made us and the boys from the buildings feel welcome ....RIP John ... thanks for the memories
