Verna, we were so very sorry to hear of Ross's sudden passing. Jim Macdonald had told us that he and John Borsellino had recently visited him and he was his typical smiling and upbeat self. His passing came as a shock. While time can never erase the ache in your heart, may the joyous memories of your many years together return a smile to your face.

I have previously left a private condolence but I'd like for everyone to know the kind of man I found Ross to be. He was extremely interesting; seemed to have a real zest for life, he was funny, & he was a real gentleman. Ross & my cousin Verna were married for over 50 yrs, & they obviously made each other very happy. I think it's safe for me to say that he wasn't just a son-in-law to my Aunt June..he was another son. Lori once said.."Ross has been in the family longer than me",which is true when one thinks of it.
Verna, you will find it hard to go forward; it's true, but your beautiful memories of Ross will always be with you.

Glenn lost his golfing buddy and dear friend. We have many fond memories of our Yacht Haven days in Florida. Glenn first met Ross through golf, then we met Verna. What a fun couple! Ross loved sharing his boat and we spent many enjoyable days on the canals and inter-coastal just "looking at things" as Ross would say. He took his big truck to Miami to just look around. We loved his adventurous spirit. When we think of Ross we remember a guy who never met a stranger. He was friendly, outgoing and truly cared about people. We remember orchid festivals, boat shows, dancing to 50's music, the Beatles, and of course golf. Ross loved life and he loved his dear wife, Verna. They made a great team!
Rest in peace dear Ross and Verna may you find peace in all the good memories.
We love you,
Glenn and Dianne

My last memory of Ross was a few weeks ago when Sanja and I had visited Yvonne. As we were leaving we spotted Ross on his bike riding along without a care in the world ... he was happy as happy can be.
My deepest condolences to you and family. Sorry for your loss.

A Tribute to Ross McArthur.....Words can not truly express how I feel at this moment....We go back many, many years ago my friends. Hard to say whom I knew first...Ross or Verna as I was their Milkman in Keswick as a teeny bopper growing up.... I know exactly what your going through Verna...my thoughts are with you....don't hesitate to reach out...At times like this a little bit of humor is needed....I think we hold the Record for the Longest Kiss. What can I say about Ross, a True Gentleman among Gentleman....always upbeat & friendly with a touch of charisma. I had the pleasure of playing Golf with Him & friends on many occasions....one sport he truly loved. He will be sadly missed by many...as He touched a lot of hearts on His journey through Life......R.I.P......Ross.
Verna...be thankful to have Him in your Life for as long as He was. Many, many memories to cherish to last You a Lifetime.....Bill

I have known Ross for over sixty years, since playing hockey in the old Keswick arena.
Over the years we have lost touch for years at a time, but when we would meet again we would talk and laugh as if no time had elapsed. They say this is the sign of true friendship.
Verna my heart goes out to you.
The world will miss you Ross.

My earliest memories of Ross .... I used to wait to hear the high school bus come and run down the street to meet the kids coming off .... I would grab onto one of Ross' long legs and he would drag me up the street to my house.. I was 4 or 5 at the time... this is the first of many memories that I will cherish...loved reminiscing with him about trips, friends and parents. A man who was always upbeat with an endearing spirit and loved life more than anything. A special man and special friend to many. You will be missed Ross. Verna , there are no words... just know that there are many people behind you to help as best we can through this..

Dear Verna,
They say behind every man is a great woman. Ross and you certainly were the epitomy of this saying over your 52 years of married life. Ross was a great man and you still are one remarkable woman! We are all behind you as you carry on Ross's legacy of love and laughter and his zest for life. We love you Verna, and we love you too, Ross.
Peace and love to all, Sandy B.

Dear Aunt Verna and dad , ( Bryan)
I am so sorry you have both lost such a wonderful soul and loving friend and companion. I am also very touched and proud too know what a wonderful spirited person my uncle and godfather was too so many people. He made an impact on so many . It really makes me feel so much love towards him and everyone he touched . I have so many wonderful childhood memories that were directly a result of both my aunt Verna and uncle Ross. And I’m glad I got to see him when I went skydiving and he wasn’t shy about slowly shaking his head with his arms crossed and telling me I was crazy in awe that I would have the nerve . With a good laugh ! He met my niece Scarlett and was so amused by her . Next generation McArthur . Those are the happy memories I think of . Thinking of you both xo lots of love ❤️

I have a number of good memories of Ross mostly from when I worked for my Dad James Morrison when Dad worked as partner for Briggs Brothers.
Ross would call my dad out to fix the pond-pumps or work on his well-pumps. I remember Dad always telling me about the bait ponds. What an interesting setup Ross had!
I'm glad Duncan Goodwin and I had the opportunity to hang with Ross a few weeks ago for a few hours. Duncan and I were picking up some old docks that Ross was selling to him and I was helping out with my little Trailer.
Ross and I got talking and swapping animated tales of all the places he and Verna had visited over the years. As it turned out I had been to many of the same places on my various motorcycle trips over the years and so it was fun to swap memories.
Verna, I'm sure you will miss Ross as long as you live. I know I miss my best friends who have passed on and all I can say is that time does eventually put some space between you and them but the place that you hold all your memory for them will always feel a little sore.
Ross seemed like he was the type of husband who was also your best friend. He spoke highly of you and how you were the key to his success in business and in your relationship.
May you have loads of love and peace and lots of friends in this sad time.

Dear Verna, We are saddened to hear that Ross lost his battle. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We have so many fond memories of Ross all the way from public school. Whenever we think of Ross, we can still hear his laughter and see his smile and interest in everyone he was talking to. He loved fun and I can remember him on his snowmobile on the lake in Minden challenging the slush and water as we raced to the other side. His smile was from ear to ear. We all had so much fun when we were younger. He was a true entrepreneur who worked hard all his life and accomplished great things. He will be missed but remembered with lots of fond memories.
Love,
Doug and Brenda Dawson
