I was sorry to read of Richard’s passing. It’s been more than sixty years since I’ve seen Richard, but I remember spending time with Uncle Rudy, Aunt Mary and their family in Windsor. It’s not easy losing those we love. My condolences to Richard’s family and all those who loved him and miss him.
Warmest regards,
Marilyn (Suzana) Jones

I am saddened to read of Rick’s passing . Rick was a rare spirit . .he was an individual who made immediate friendships. His obvious pride of Christine and Michael was never far from his comments. He was gifted, creative, imaginative, spiritual and an outdoor Guru. . His love of the outdoors went beyond the ordinary… he owned the outdoors with his skills and knowledge. Laughter came easily to Rick, he would listen to stories from anyone who crossed his path, and share those tales in front of a bonfire with a beer in his hand. Cooking was a passion , be it a BBQ , a guest dinner or a gourmet feast in the middle of a forest. I am blessed that he was part of my life…

We were neighbours and became fast friends sharing many celebrations and good times. Rick was a wonderful storyteller and he held me spellbound through his expressively dramatized tales. I loved him for that and forgave him if dinner was a little late. He was as comfortable alone in the wilderness as he was in a cushy living room full of people where he often broke out in an infectious laugh that was distinctly his own.
A great cook, he would create a gourmet meal from a catch of fish or some basic meat and vegetables from the market. In the last few years I was privileged to enjoy his wonderful insights, as he read to me passages from the book he was writing on spirituality.
He always gifted me with earrings or a necklace from his own hand made jewellery creations. "Richard, you were a loving friend: kind, generous in spirit and full of heart, and I will deeply miss you."

We were neighbours, friends and became family, on Braeburn Avenue. Sharing time with our children, extended families. All of life’s joy and challenges made our time an unforgettable and cherished time. We think about you always “you old goat”
